After a week of relaxing by the pool, sipping tropical cocktails, enjoying fresh seafood and taking romantic strolls along the beach at sunset, I proposed to my partner in the tropical surrounds of Bramston Beach House.
Acknowledged as a World Heritage site back in the year 1992, the Wooroonooran National Park remains to be known as a natural sanctuary that houses a few of the last living tropical rainforests in the world. It is basically the collective term for the chain of wildlife parks that are located within the expanse of Townsville and Cooktown. It is the home of Mount Bartle Frere, Mount Bellenden Ker, and the Walsh’s Pyramid, also known as the Bellenden Ker Range, which is why mountain climbing has become a very popular activity among visiting tourists.
Aside from the Australia’s three soaring natural wonders, there are several more nature attractions that are sited within its borders. Because of the high amounts of rainfall that it collects yearly, this national park is famed for its scenic waterfalls that can be sighted in many places around its range. One of the most visited is the infamous Josephine Falls. It is a common picnic and swimming destination. The cold water that flows from Mount Bartle Frere’s incline is perfect for quick afternoon baths. Grill equipment and picnic tables are available near the parking area, which the visitors can use free of charge. Other waterfalls such as the Tchupala Falls, Wallicher Falls, Nandroya Falls, White Falls, and Clamshell Falls, which are just as beautiful, are also open for public touring.
Bushwalking is also a familiar past time because of the stunning unspoilt beauty of the rainforests surrounding the area. Over 500 precipitous trees such as the milky pine, water gum, red tulip oak, and blackbean are sheltered within the wilderness together with a few kinds of wild flowers. Foot paths and trail markings are located around the park allowing visitors to go on self-guided tours. There are specific spots in the park that are ideal for bird watching. Parrots and cassowaries are just some of the species that can be regularly sighted. The picturesque rivers and swamps accommodate the diverse water species like turtles and platypuses. The amazing diversity of plants and animals that thrive in the thick rainforests seems to pique the interests of many nature trippers.
The Wooroonooran National Park is located 33 kilometres west of the town of Innisfail or 25 kilometres east when coming from Millaa Millaa. It sits right on the middle of Innisfail and the Atherton Tableland so it can be accessed via the Palmerston Highway. After a day of roughing up and communing with nature, a relaxing overnight stay at the Bramston Beach House is the perfect way to end your vacation. It is designed based on modern architecture and furnishing leaving you aesthetically satisfied. For utmost convenience, you are entitled to use the state-of-the-art appliances that are equipped in this deluxe beach front home.
