After a week of relaxing by the pool, sipping tropical cocktails, enjoying fresh seafood and taking romantic strolls along the beach at sunset, I proposed to my partner in the tropical surrounds of Bramston Beach House.
Australia is home to a number of the oldest surviving rainforests in the world. Most of its tourist attractions are visited because of the breathtaking scenery of the thick rainforests that surround the areas. The Daintree National Park offers visiting tourists a different experience in exploring the wilderness. The lush tropical trees and bushes course down to the body of water that makes up the Cape Tribulation Beach, which is a rather unusual occurrence. It has been declared as a Wet Tropics World Heritage Area back in the year 1988. Aside from the rules set up by this organization, this tourist spot is also protected by the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people, who happen to be the long-established owners of the settlement where the national park is situated. The place is sanctified by these people hence they have a certain set of laws that must be observed whenever you are in their area.
The spirituality of the place plus the beautiful panorama of the crystal blue oceans and vivid green colour of the forests make the Cape Tribulation a place worth visiting. The beach is the perfect place to unwind for those who have been living the busy city life and the several hiking trails are ideal for those nature trippers who are always in search for excitement and adventure. It can accommodate the needs and expectations of every one who steps into its boundaries. And not to mention, the place can provide access to the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics World Heritage areas, which are highly commended for the amazing variety of species that thrive in their zones.
Aside from soaking up the sun and camping on permitted grounds (such as the Noah Beach campsite), the second most common tourist activity is hiking. Visitors are offered with four short trails and a long challenging one. The Jindalba trail can be accomplished in 45 minutes, more or less and gives hikers a chance to catch sight of tree kangaroos or cassowaries if they’re lucky. Second is the Marrdja trail that explores the mangrove communities. If you plan on setting up picnics on the beach and hiking at the same time, you should take the Dubuji or Kulki trails that will provide access to Myall Beach where picnic facilities are available. If you are up for more adventure, take the Mount Sorrow Ridge trail that will take approximately 6 to 7 hours to finish. The foot path is steep, slippery, and tricky so it is suggested that visitors don’t take on this trail alone.
The Cape Tribulation is located on the northern side of Cairns and it can be accessed by the means of the Cook Highway. To get there, take the road that will lead you to the Daintree River Crossing and from there a ferry will take you the practically untouched island. While in the vicinity of Cairns, you might as well pay the Bramston Beach House a visit for a five-star living experience in this modern beachfront house. It is located at the end of Evans Road, which can be accessed via the Bramston Beach Road. To get to this point, from Cairns, drive along the Bruce Highway then turn left at Miriwinni.
